Chapter Update: Sts. Peter & Paul A.R.O.Y. Gogoşi Sale
by
Ramona Balaie (president), Jennifer Placinta (vice president) & Chris Cook (auditor)

Our chapter has hosted two Gogoşi sales in the past four months, one of which took place on October 18 and the other recently on January 24.  Both turned out to be a huge success and were great experiences for our chapter to really bond with one another as well as the mothers who taught us how to bake.  We prepared plans for the sales at our monthly meetings a few weeks prior to each sale.

As we closed in on our most recent Donut Day ("D-Day", haha), we started to make the dough at 9am and as the dough began to rise, so did our numbers.  Within an hour we had about twenty-two people in the kitchen, all willing to invest their time to help our A.R.O.Y. Chapter.  As the sale began, we had more than 400 Gogoşi and Plăcinte ready to be fried.  It also happened to be the same Sunday that the newly-elected A.R.O.Y. chapter officers were being sworn in after the Liturgy, so we wore our aprons in the church as advertisement.  It must have worked because the parishioners followed the smells right out of the church and into long lines in the hall.  The demand was great and our stock was quickly eaten up.

Each sale helps us to grow closer together as well as closer to our goal of getting to Minnesota for this year’s Conference.  We recommend other chapters do this kind of sale because in addition to our profits increasing, so does the involvement of our members.  This past sale saw our largest chapter participation in recent history and it's good to know that something so positive would come out of something so simple and delicious.
